Cliff and Mindy Newhall, a handsome young couple, move to Los Angeles from Grand Rapids after Cliff receives a promotion. As we see them moving into their new apartment, they meet Joanie, a voluptuous blonde who lives across the hall. Joanie shares her apartment with Tanya, a woman with a bizarre and sensual appetite. Tanya owns a small, intimate nightclub where Cliff and Mindy soon become regular customers. But we see that this club is not Tanya’s only source of income. We follow her into the night as she accepts money for such weird practices as whipping a wealthy patron in his large, expensive home, we see her unusual relationship to Joanie, and how this same female, Tanya, attempts to seduce BOTH Cliff and Mindy.

In the subplot of the story, Cliff becomes successful in business, but he and Mindy, thanks to Tanya, have slowly become driven wide apart. At the end, in a wild party, Mindy does a strip while Cliff is in the next room attempting to rape Joanie. Tanya interrupts Cliff in his efforts, sends Joanie out of the room, and commands Cliff to make love to her. Cliff suddenly realizes what has been happening to him, leaves Tanya in the bedroom, and he and Mindy start a new and more meaningful relationship in life.
